GRANITE OR QUARTZ. THE AESTHETIC

Granite and quartz have different nuances. Granite is an igneous rock, formed by lava or magma cooled, it is 100% natural and has a granular structure. Available in many colors, from pink to gray, brown or black. The myriad shades where you can have it makes it suitable for any decor, classic as to modern. As with the quartz, choosing a dark color, the grain will be less visible, this cannot happen with the granite. Although raw, in its natural state, the surface of the granite can be treated to have a smooth, shiny finish. The granite surface gives a sophisticated look and being a natural stone, you will have a unique piece, not an identical one exists.

GRANITE OR QUARTZ? PECULIARITY

By examining the materials we see as both have their particular advantages. Granite is durable and resistant, does not scratch and scratch easily. Although these qualities make it ideal for everyday life in the kitchen, you must always remember that it is a natural product, so there is a little maintenance to be done to keep it in perfect condition.

Quartz is heavier than granite, but at the same time is more flexible, thus more easy to work with during installation. Granite is a porous material, and then to become stain should be treated with a specific product. Quartz is impermeable to liquids, it is almost impossible to spot them and is extremely robust. The granite instead, although very durable, is not indestructible. It ‘good to pay attention with heavy objects, because being a natural stone, with an excessive impact may break. Granite is more resistant to heat and thermal shock, while the quartz resistant to high temperatures, it is a bit ‘less, therefore you should always put a trivet to lean over a pot or a pan boiling. Regardless that your decision is granite or quartz, have a greater care is never wrong!

GRANITE AND QUARTZ. CARE AND MAINTENANCE

The granite surface, unlike  quartz, must be made waterproof. There are different products on the market that are simply brushed on the surface, ensuring a perfect waterproof to liquids. Moreover, when they fall on the ground substances such as lemon juice or wine, it must remove them immediately with soap and water. Acidic substances can easily spot the granite. If it’s not possible to intervene in time and the plan it is now stained not despair since commercially it will be possible to find specific stain for the granite. For stubborn stains you will need to force rub, if the surface were to be damaged, please ask a specialist to avoid further damage to the stain! Whether it’s granite or quartz, cleaning the floor must be smooth, but fear not it is really simple. Simply pass a damp cloth every day, so it’s a matter of a few minutes! As regards the classic products for cleaning, these can be used on the quartz, but not on the granite, because they can discolor the stone. If necessary, you can buy specific products, so as not to damage the surface.
